Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

As an employer, you know from time to time people need help dealing with personal issues. Sometimes, these issues may even have a negative impact on an employee's job performance. Blue Cross of Idaho has partnered with Business Psychology Associates (BPA) to offer Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services for you and your employees.

What services does EAP cover?
Professional face-to-face counseling to help your employees deal with problems. Examples include alcohol and drug abuse, emotional problems, marriage and family issues, behavioral problems, stress, job related issues and anger management.

An EAP counselor will refer employees to appropriate specialists when needed. Counselors will also work with your employees to create a plan that addresses their needs.

What does an EAP cost my employees?
Nothing. Employees pay noting for short-term counseling, or referral services provided by your EAP. When a referral is needed, every effort is made connect the employee with the appropriate help available in your community.

How can an EAP save the employer money?
EAP services have been shown to enhance employee performance and productivity, reduce absenteeism and turnover as well as reduce the risk of workplace accidents. EAP services can minimize related health insurance claims, advocate teamwork and help meet the requirements for a drug-free workplace.

Plan Options
With choices from 1-3 to 1-10 visits per issue, per year, you choose the plan that fits your buget. Your employees and their family members have access to an EAP counselor each issue. Blue Cross of Idaho will include the cost for EAP services in your monthly statement.
