Our provider administrative policies contain information regarding claims submission, reimbursement, and other information in order to achieve an efficient relationship with our providers. These policies are not an authorization or explanation of benefits. Blue Cross of Idaho retains the right to add to, delete from and otherwise modify this policy in accordance with our provider contracts.

Blue Cross of Idaho works diligently on behalf of our members to develop contracting relationships with Idaho dental providers and Blue Cross Blue Shield dental affiliates (national Dental Grid).



NPI Notification

National Provider Identifiers (NPI) must be registered with Blue Cross of Idaho. Providers must complete a dentist profile form (located under forms at for every location prior to submitting claims. The dentist profile form must include the date the dentist started seeing patients at that specific location. Blue Cross of Idaho must receive this information prior to the provider's start date, or as soon as possible after the start date. If we receive claims adding a provider to Blue Cross of Idaho's records, we will return claims or delay the payment process, pending receipt of the dentist profile form.

NOTE:  Registering your NPI does not mean that you contract with Blue Cross of Idaho. To request contracts, please contact your provider relations representative, refer to DPAP100.
