What is a Formulary?
A formulary is a list of covered drugs selected by the Medicare Advantage plans in consultation with a team of healthcare providers, which represents the prescription therapies believed to be a necessary part of a quality treatment program. Your Medicare Advantage plan will generally cover the drugs listed in the formulary as long as the drug is medically necessary, the prescription is filled at a network pharmacy, and other plan rules are followed.
For basic information on your Medicare Advantage formulary, please review the Formulary or the Evidence of Coverage for your plan.
