Our provider administrative policies contain information regarding claims submission, reimbursement, and other information in order to achieve an efficient relationship with our providers. These policies are not an authorization or explanation of benefits. Blue Cross of Idaho retains the right to add to, delete from and otherwise modify this policy in accordance with our provider contracts.


Data Accuracy

For the purposes of data accuracy, Blue Cross of Idaho considers a standard claim form UB-04 or CMS-1500 to be a primary source document. Any attached documentation should be consistent with the information on the claim form. In the event of inconsistencies, Blue Cross of Idaho will make a reimbursement based on the data found on a primary source document. At the discretion of Blue Cross of Idaho, claims with inconsistencies may require additional investigation or be returned for correction.

When submitting claims data, providers must ensure the data is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge and belief.
